Eat Healthy Stay Healthy

We cannot always predict what health issue is going to affect us now or in the future.  However there are a lot of things we can do to either prevent it or slow it down.

  •         Drink less soda
  •         Eating fruits and vegetables
  •         Exercise
  •          Eat more healthy foods

Take diabetes for example, this can be caused by eating excess junk food, or too much soda, smoking, or being over-weight.  If you are doing everything necessary to be healthy but you have diabetes any way, then it is important that you follow you physician advice.

You may be thinking I don’t have diabetes and no one in my family does, so I’m good.  Do you know how your heart is doing, or if the cells in your body are operating properly?  You could have a heart attack, or develop some form of cancer.

Forgiveness a Way of Life

No one is perfect, we all make mistakes, sometimes we have no control over what happen; however we have control over what happen with our minds, and can choose what goes and what becomes a part of our lives.  Taking control means making a conscious decision to do something.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a decision you make that will benefit you and not the other person who may have done you wrong.  It’s a decision you make to let go of your resentment and thoughts of revenge.  The bible talks about forgiving other as we would want others to forgive us.  Studies have shown that forgiveness is essential to your health and state of mind.

Forgiveness is not denying or minimizing the wrong that was done to you.  It is not telling the responsible party that it’s OK not to take responsible for their actions.  Forgiveness is allowing your-self to have peace and move on to live a healthy and productive life.

Improve your Health with Yoga

How would you like to improve your health and overall life style with yoga?

Yoga is a practice intended to redirect your entire body, soul and mind to make it all come together. Yoga works the mind and body to make it fall into place, and help to improve your overall life style.

Everybody needs a little help some times to get their bodies and soul on track. Practicing yoga will help to improve your overall health, teaching you how to meditate and at the same time, relieving stress.  Yoga not only helps to relieve stress, but it also strengthens your limbs, and mind, may even help you to lose weight.

If you have never done yoga take it slow and easy, get an instructor or join a group.  Don't try to force your body into the different postures all at once. Doing more than your body can manage could do you more harm than good.   Like most exercise programs you need to go slow and stick with it.

You may be excited about doing yoga but don't go out and spend a lot of money on exercise clothing just to practice yoga. Start small you need some sweats and comfortable loose fitting tops.  You don’t have to purchase a yoga mat because most gyms will furnish them.

Steps to Over-coming Loneliness

Are you living a lonely life?

We experience loneliness for a number of reasons, such as isolation or social awkwardness.  Everyone experience loneliness at some point in their live; but fortunately for us, there are a number of ways to overcome loneliness.

Loneliness is many-sided and often involves unpleasant emotional response to isolation or lack of companionship.  Loneliness can be felt even when you are surrounded by people who love you.  The cause of loneliness varies which could include social, mental, emotional, and spiritual factors.  Research has shown that loneliness is widely prevalent throughout society among people in marriages, relationships, families and successful careers.

Understand that we all get lonely
Experiencing loneliness does not mean there is something wrong with you.  We are all prone to loneliness during major life transitions whether it’s losing something or someone.  We will need to explore new alternatives and things to help us during this period.

Know the difference between loneliness and solitude
Loneliness is when you are not happy to be alone, and solitude is when you are happy to be alone.  If you are someone who is happy to be alone then you may be experiencing solitude and need to get professional help.

Overcoming the Fear of Failure

How would you answer this question; “are you afraid of failure?”

Did you know that your fear of failure can keep you from being successful in life? Fear can stop you from experiencing success and freedom financially and physically in your life; it can keep you in a place that you don’t want to be and don’t know how to get out of.

  Fear of Failure
Are you afraid that if you start something it would fail? Do you think that you are one of those people who fail at everything you go after, and that you don’t deserve to be success in life?  It’s time to take control of your fear of failure.  Start believing that all things are possible, you just need to apply yourself, and failure is an option you don’t have to choose.

Fear of Change
Do you think that change will bring failure?  I personal don’t like change because it takes me out of my comfort zone.  But I am not afraid of changes because it’s a part of our everyday life.  We can’t get away from change no matter how hard we try, so embrace it and let it work for you it does not have to be a failure; it can be your platform to success.

Fear of Being Judged or Rejected
Fear can control you only if you allow it to; it has no power except for the power you give it.  Every successful individual you can think of has had been judged and rejected yet they choose to persevere and not let fear of failure conquer, or intimidate them.

Knowing When To Say No

Saying No is not always easy to do, it sometimes makes you feel bad and seems like a mean persons.  However once in a while you will find yourself in a situation that goes beyond the limits and you simple have to say “No”.  It is not easy to say no to your friends or people you love and care about.

Pleasing Other People
There are people in your life who every once in a while you may find it hard to say No to because you want to please them.  Pleasing others is not always in your interest, so you need to weight your options.  If you are in a business negation you need to use wisdom but stand up for what you believe and what’s in your best interest.  Take control of your life and stand up for yourself and say no when necessary, don’t always try to please others.

Afraid of Losing Friendship
I have lost relationships because I have said “No”.  Don’t worry about losing friends, set limits and stick to your principles.  If you have a friend you can’t say “No” to then this friendship is not worth keeping.  People come into our lives for a reason and a season so when the time comes for them to go, let them go.

What Makes You Happy?

You know that song, years ago “Don’t Worry be Happy”, it’s a good song because worrying will not change your situation or solve your problem.  Being happy is not going to change your situation long term either, because happiness is not fixed once and for all.

One definition of happiness is a “mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.” Happiness does not have a fixed, precise meaning, so what makes me happy may not make you happy.

Material things don’t necessarily bring you happiness, because happiness does not come from the outside but from within.   You can be happy when you get the job you wanted or the relationship you desired, but what happens when the warm and fuzzy feelings wears off?

5 Steps to Being Happy
  • Be kind to others
  • Forgive yourself first then others
  • Express gratitude
  • Don’t over-think things
  • Practice religion/spirituality

Happiness is a in the moment feeling, so we say things like I will be happy when…….which mean it only when you have achieve this goal or thing are you going to be happy.  Take a step of faith and get out of your comfort zone, and be happy where you are in your life.

Setting A Goal Achieving Success

We all want to be successful at whatever we do; but what is success?  Success is “Having achieved or gained much especially wealth, fame, or power.”  Most people don’t understand success because they don’t know what they want, and they don’t have much.

Most of us have problem achieving our goals or being successful simple because we don’t set goals.  Achieving a goal is not as easy as just thinking or writing the plan down, you will have to take action and be persistence to accomplish you goal.

3 Steps to achieving your goals
  1.      Be clear about your goal
  2.     Have a plan on how to achieve it
  3.        It needs to realistic (you have to believe it’s possible for you to achieve)

Taking action is the life of achieving your goal.  Start by documenting your goal in details, set smaller goals or milestones which will assist you in reaching your final goal.  Researching your goal will give you information on the best way to achieve your goal and become successful.

Now that your goal is on paper and you have done your homework, you will be more motivated to achieve your goal.  Although some people deal with motivation in a negative manner, like over doing things, being impatient or giving up too quickly because you are dis-satisfied with the progress.

5 Steps to Making a Successful Budget

Making a monthly budget will help you take control of your income and expenses. It’s simple addition and subtraction so if you have no knowledge of accounting don’t worry, this is very easy and it’s the first step to taking control of your finance.

Step 1: Gather all your bills and income statement:
This includes bank statements (checking and saving accounts), recent utility bills,   and information relating to your income or expenses.

Step 2: List (add up) all your source of income:
It would be easy to do this on a spread-sheet, however, if you don’t know how to             use excel, that’s OK, it can be done on a sheet of paper.  If you are self-employed or have any other source of income you should record these also. Add all pay-check received for the month as one, and record the total.

Step 3: List your monthly expenses:
Make a list of all your expected expenses and what you plan on spending over the course of the month.  List the fix expenses, which include rent or mortgage payment, insurance (life, auto, or health) groceries, entertainment, utilities, loans, and basically everything you spend money on.

I Regret Not Being......

We all have an appointment with death, so don't spend your life regretting the things you wanted to do but don't have the courage to do.  As of this moment take control and rethink how you live your life. What you would like to accomplish while you have the strength and ability to do so, and where you go from here?

However if you choose to live your life in regret you will always be asking yourself, what if?
What if your doctor told you that you have three months to live?  Would you start adding up the all the regrets you have for things you did or did not do?  Or would you evaluate your life and make the changes that would help you reach your goal, whatever it is.

Here are “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying” by Bronnie Ware I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me”
  • I wish I didn't work so hare”
  • I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings”
  • I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends”
  • I wish that I had let myself be happier”

Most of us don’t like changes or starting over, but life is always changing so we need to deal with it.  We always have choices, so take control of how you live your life honestly, and consciously to be who you really are, and don't pretend to be someone else, because in the end you will regret not being you.

Handling Life Changes

We get motivated and start taking action to reach our goals, at the beginning of a new year, or when something happen.  But after a couple of weeks or months we start falling back into the place we were before we had the inspiration.  How do you maintain the momentum and keep going forward.

In life change is inevitable.  I like to read, and listen and getting information these days has become even easier with all the electronic device available, which allows you to read where ever you are without taking a book with you.  You now have the choice to listen to someone else read to you.

What Needs to Change
Look around things are constantly changing and yet not many of us want to change because it is so frightening.  Making a change is challenging because you don’t know what is going to happen with the change that was made; what do you want to change?

  • Your financial status,
  •  your weight
  •  your diet
  •  your job
  •  your relationship

Making changes is hard especially because we are creatures of habit.  So it’s difficult to adjust to changes that are uncertain.  Sometimes we fail to understand that life does not always go the way we want it to go.  You may want to explore a new lifestyle or start a new job and one of the best ways to do this is through knowledge.

My Life - My Health

Changing the things in your life that needs to be changed is one way of taking control, it may be a reason to change your diet and eat right.  You have the power to change what you don’t like about yourself.  You can influence your long term health by eating a varied diet, performing regular physical activity, getting adequate fluid, plenty of sleep, and limiting your alcohol intake and stress.

Be Confidence with Who You Are
We all have something that we don't like about ourselves.  For too long society has dictated to us who we are and who we should look like or be like.  I could make a list of the things I would like to change in my live both physically and emotional.  However I have learned that I don't have much control over the physical so I work on changing the emotional part, and my diet.

Be confident with who you are, and don't dwell on the things you can’t change.  Look for all the good things you like about your-self and work on enhancing these things. Try something you have never done before, but you really, really want to do. Look at the world around you and see where you.

Be Aware of What You Eat
At some point in our lives we all think about what we eat and how to make changes.  Choosing the right diet it not that easy because they are so many to choose form, and you like me love to snack.    Judging from research in the Food marketing institute’s more than 9 out 10 shoppers says they are very or somewhat concerned about the nutritional content of what they eat.  So no matter how concerned you are if you need to change your diet and to lose weight or keep it off, go for it and don’t listen to the negative voices around you.  Read more….

Live Your Life on Your Terms
If you have a desire to increase your self-esteem, I suggest you live your life on your own terms.  What do I mean!!
  1. Do not listen to everyone's suggestions on how to live your life.
  2. Listen to what your hearts saying and take a stand.
  3. Do the things that make you happy, for in doing so you are living life on your own terms.
Be inspired to dream, paint a picture in your head and then make it happen.  You have the power to do so do not doubt yourself be confident.

Self-development is a process that is necessary in every area of our lives.  Gaining success becomes very easy with the help of self-development.

Self-development can help us gain financial freedom and growth in our professional lives, it could easily take use to another level.  Self- development takes times, and a lot of hard work, it will not happen overnight, so we have to be prepared to make changes in your life.

We can all live a productive life, if we are willing to make the sacrifice and do what is necessary to get us to our goal.  Be inspired to grow and take control of your life.  Self-development is one of the many tools that can be used to reach our goals in life.

Get Organized
A good step in getting organized is to eliminate what isn’t of value in our lives.  Organizing our lives could create a sense of discipline to getting things done on time.  By removing an unorganized system from our lives, which could help us move a step closer towards getting organized and enjoying our lives.

Planning
I have always tried to plan in advance, but sometimes things don’t go the way we plan.  However planning can help to avoid confusions and problems in your lives; a well-planned strategy can bring great results, and enhance our self-development.  If you really have the zeal to improve your life, and improve on your planning skills, then planning the steps in advance would be the best place to start.

Be Positive
On our journey to procedure of self-development, we need to have a positive attitude.  If in the initial stages you don’t witness self-development, don’t be impatient; keep doing your best and stay positive.  Embrace a positive attitude and self-development will definitely manifest itself.

Stay away from negativity it does not enhance self-development. Those of us who always think in a negative way are less adaptive towards self-development.  So avoid negativity and begin the voyage of self-development.

Complete the Mission
Continue working to accomplish the tasks.  Accomplishing our goals could be an excellent technique in initiating self-development.  Doing our best and aiming for the sky could help us in reaching our goals quickly and automatically increase self-development.

Now that we have gone through some of the steps to self-development, let us begin our journey which holds a high significance in self-building.  We are unable to achieve success, unless we fine the strength within our-selves to fight for growth, and self-development.

Get Organize Be In Control

Organizing our lives is not something we do consciously, it’s handle the same way we handle organizing our homes.   We think about it, make a plan and then keep putting it off, until one day we realize that several years have pasted and nothing has been done.  Don’t wake up one morning and regret not taking control.  Now you may be wondering, where do I begin, and how much time is this going to take? It’s the same question I asked myself when I started de-cluttering my home.

I started with my closet and was very surprised with some of the things I found.  Things I had no recollection of, I even wonder if these things were mine.  The place I started may not be the same place you want to start.
There are so many areas you can work on to de-clutter your life.  There are areas that you and I may not think needs to be de-cluttered.  So here are six things that some experts recommend you start with:

1.       Cleaning up your house
2.      Exercising
3.      Love yourself
4.      Being grateful
5.      Get outside, get moving
6.      Change your diet
  • So at the end of the day how many more hours do you need to complete your to do list?
  • How much do you try to get done in one day?
  • Some of us have a lot going on in our daily lives without any structure, which can lead to chaos and less productivity.
Organization is a great tool for a stress free life.
Maintaining a positive attitude is a way to reduce stress in your life and improve your overall health.
Planning your day, and writing things down will help to keep you organized…
De-cluttering your diet may mean you have to eliminate a lot of the foods you now enjoy.  We will agree to disagree, that most of the food we now eat may not be good for us, but I’m not a dietitian, so I say all things in moderation.  However you may want to take a look at your diet to see if a change is required, and if so go ahead and make the change it will only make you feel better and live longer.
