We all want
to be successful at whatever we do; but what is success? Success is “Having achieved or gained much especially
wealth, fame, or power.” Most people
don’t understand success because they don’t know what they want, and they don’t
have much.
Most of us
have problem achieving our goals or being successful simple because we don’t
set goals. Achieving a goal is not as
easy as just thinking or writing the plan down, you will have to take action
and be persistence to accomplish you goal.
3 Steps to achieving your goals
- Be clear about your goal
- Have a plan on how to achieve it
- It needs to realistic (you have to believe it’s possible for you to achieve)
Taking action
is the life of achieving your goal.
Start by documenting your goal in details, set smaller goals or
milestones which will assist you in reaching your final goal. Researching your goal will give you
information on the best way to achieve your goal and become successful.
Now that your goal is on paper and you have
done your homework, you will be more motivated to achieve your goal. Although some people deal with motivation in
a negative manner, like over doing things, being impatient or giving up too quickly
because you are dis-satisfied with the progress.
Your goal
might be to own your own home. Now your
document should read something like this; I will buy a house in the next two
years, therefore I need to budget for it.
You may not like the idea of budgeting but you have to make sacrifice to
achieve success. When you hear the testimonials
of all the people who are successful you will understand why making sacrifices is
important.
Most goals
can’t be reached overnight; therefore you will need to exercise patient, and
endurance without which you will not be successful. It is helpful to evaluate your progress as
you work on your goal, and try to stay motivated even if you feel it is slow
going.
Wanting to achieve success is a great
motivation to reaching your goal. When you
understand that there has to be sincere effort by you in everything that is
required to completing your goal, then you will not procrastinate.
To achieve
your goal you can not only think about it or write it down. You need to remind yourself that there is a
process for achieving your goal and that process is your determination. Only you
can stop yourself from being successful and achieving your goal. So what are you going to do?
